About Gold Star Riders

Gold Star Riders is a charity organization that directly supports the mission of Legacies Alive and actively participates in community events that support Gold Star families and help keep the legacies of our fallen heroes alive.

The Gold Star Riders organization plays an integral part in carrying out the Legacies Alive mission, which is to to strengthen and support the Gold Star families of our nation’s fallen heroes and to bring national awareness to the life and character of all service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Gold Star Riders was formed in March of 2022 as a sub-chapter of Legacies Alive by Legacies Alive volunteers, members of the American Legion Riders, and Patriot Guard Riders. The founding members of Gold Star Riders are a group of individuals who share a common interest in the motorcycle community as well as a strong commitment to our nation’s Gold Star Families.

Currently, there are 29 Gold Star Riders members, 5 of whom are Gold Star Family members. Each member is committed to supporting Legacies Alive. Members volunteer at events held by Legacies Alive and provide an escort for Gold Star family members at each event.

Gold Star Riders Purpose

Gold Star Riders exists to provide direct support to Legacies Alive, to strengthening and supporting our nations Gold Star families, and to bring national awareness to the life and character of all service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

These purposes are carried out through participation and unwavering support of the Legacies Alive organization and their main programs: Legacy Events, Legacy Projects, and Legacy Challenges.

Involvement in the Community

Mountain Man Memorial March

16 Gold Star Riders and 11 motorcycles traveled to Gatlinburg, Tennessee with the Legacies Alive team and several Gold Star family member for this significant annual event. Gold Star Riders provided an escort to the Legacies Alive coach bus throughout the trip. The organization also provided an escort for all hikers and runners along the 26.2-mile course and to Gold Star family members in attendance of the event.

Gold Star Family Picnic

Gold Star Riders joined other Legacies Alive volunteers to help run the 2022 Legacies Alive Family Picnic. The organization also provided an escort to and from the hotel for all Gold Star families and managed parking and traffic control at the event.

2022 Beaver County POW/MIA Run

Gold Star Riders co-hosted this event with local American Legion riders and successfully raised over $8,000 to support local Gold Star Families and veterans. Proceeds were split equally between Legacies Alive and the Veterans Breakfast Club.
