Bobby grew up in western Pennsylvania, where he excelled at sports, especially baseball. As a high school catcher, he also served as the team’s pitching coach—a rare role, but one he earned through respect and a deep knowledge of the game. He loved fishing, too, and when home on leave, often headed to his family’s camp to spend time by the water. He poured his heart into everything he loved and had a close bond with his loyal dog, Buck. After graduating from Avonworth High School in 1999, he attended the Community College of Allegheny County South on a full baseball scholarship.

In 2003, after two years of college and baseball, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Proud of his decision, he trained hard and found boot camp “a breeze.” He was stationed in Mayport, Florida, where he served aboard the USS McInerney (FFG-8) as a gas turbine technician.

Bobby passed away on September 7, 2007. His legacy endures in the hearts of his family, friends, and fellow service members.
