Army Navy Game 2022

Every year, Gold Star families and Legacies Alive supporters from all over the country gather for the Army Navy game. It is an emotionally charged weekend where Gold Star families can enjoy a time away, bond and share together, and experience fun rivalries. It is a special time to honor, remember, and celebrate the lives of their Fallen Heroes.

The weekend began Friday night with a reception for 150 guests. Gold Star families were joined by Legacies Alive team members and Board of Directors, volunteers, donors, and sponsors. The evening provided an intimate setting for Gold Star families to be re-united and for new members to be welcomed into the Legacies Alive family.

On game day morning, December 10th, over 90 Gold Star families arrived by motor coach for the tailgate, escorted by the Philadelphia Police Departments. Once again, the families were joined by Legacies Alive staff, volunteers, donors, and friends – with over 450 guests in attendance.

Highlights of the day included visits by US Navy CNO Admiral Gilday and his wife, Linda, along with his staff and Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Center, Brett Toth and his wife, Thereasa. The Legacies Alive staff and Gold Star families are also appreciative of United Rentals and KIND Snacks for their sponsorship of this event and the many donors who make it all possible!

The families enjoyed the big game and their time together. The exciting game ended with a win for the Army. Congratulations to our Co-Founder, Mike Viti, who is currently coaching on the Army football staff in West Point, NY!

A visit from US Navy CNO Admiral Gilday

Thank you to the US Navy CNO Admiral Gilday, his wife Linda, and staff for visiting with us at our tailgate celebration prior to the Army Navy game. The support shown to our Gold Star families will be something they always remember.

A visit from Eagles' Brett Toth

We would like to extend a thank you to Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Center, Brett Toth and his wife, Thereasa, for taking a moment out of their busy schedule and stopping by our tailgate at the Army Navy game.

Brett learned about our organization while playing and being coached on the Black Knights team at West Point under our Co-Founder, Mike Viti.

Once a year the NFL gives players the opportunity to pick a cause that is important to them and design custom cleats. In 2021, Brett chose Legacies Alive as his “My Cleats My Cause” recipient.

While at the tailgate visiting with families we were able to present those cleats, with Brett and Thereasa’s support, to two of our sponsors, United Rentals and KIND Snacks.

Thank you, Brett and Thereasa, for your time spent with our families and your service to our country!

A weekend to remember...

Thank you everyone from Legacies Alive who made my weekend by inviting me and Gold star families to the Army/Navy game. I met so many great people and Gold Star families who touched my heart in so many ways this weekend. Such a great organization and people who make you feel like a part of the family. We will never forget... To their legacies.
