Dimitri grew up in Katy, Texas, and graduated from Taylor High School in 2005. Energetic and charismatic, he was known for his love of soccer, hip-hop music, dancing, and Star Wars. With his infectious laughter and playful nature, he was beloved by his friends and brought joy to everyone around him.

After high school, Dimitri entered the United States Military Academy at West Point with the Class of 2009—a decision driven by his love of challenges and his desire to serve his country, values deeply rooted in his family’s strong American pride. There, he excelled as a rugby player and embodied the qualities of a natural leader. Upon graduating, he was commissioned as an officer and completed both Airborne and Ranger schools. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. In April 2011, he deployed to Afghanistan. During a combat patrol on June 25, Dimitri was fatally wounded while calling for fire support, continuing his duties until his last breath.

Dimitri’s legacy lives on through his wife, Katie (USMA ’09); his extended family, friends, and comrades. His memory continues to inspire all who knew him.
