Will spent nearly his entire life in Colorado. He loved to hunt, fish, play golf, tackle projects around the house, and spend time with his family.
After graduating from Montezuma-Cortez High School in 2004, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He completed basic training and Airborne School, then graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in July 2006. He was assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group at Fort Carson, Colorado, where he served as an assistant operations and intelligence sergeant with
Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion. Over 15 years of service, Will deployed seven times: five to Iraq, once to Tajikistan in support of a counter-narcotics mission, and once to Afghanistan. On March 22, 2019, he died from wounds sustained during combat operations in Kunduz Province, Afghanistan.
His legacy lives on through his wife, Sarah; his daughters Scotlynn, Evelyn, Richlynn, and Gracelyn; extended family, friends, and fellow soldiers.
