Tim Punke and his family is racing across America to raise funds for Legacies Alive. The family is participating in the Race Across America (RAAM), one of the most respected and longest running ultra-endurance events in the world. Starting in Oceanside, California, RAAM spans over 3000 miles, climbs 175,000 feet, crosses 13 states, and finishes on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Army Navy Game 2022

87 Gold Star families arrived by motor coach, escorted by Gold Star Riders, for the 2022 Army Navy game on December 12th. They were joined at the tailgate and game by over a hundred supporters including Legacies Alive staff, volunteers, donors, and friends.

The Family Picnic is the cornerstone Legacy Event that connects Gold Star families each year. Hundreds of Gold Star families, Legacies Alive staff, and supporters come together for a weekend of comradery, encouragement, and healing – all made possible by an army of volunteers, donors, and sponsors. The event, which takes place at a private farm outside of Pittsburgh, features a weekend of activities, food, entertainment, fireworks, and an opportunity to honor and remember the legacies of our fallen heroes.

US Army MSG Ben Linkous led the way on Saturday, April 24th in Beaver County, PA for the 26.2 mile Mountain Man Memorial March (MMMM) to honor our local Gold Star Families and their fallen heroes and to raise money and awareness for military families who have lost a loved one in the line of duty.

Register now for the Unquiet Professional’s 2020 Virtual Memorial Mile! The Unquiet Professional is dedicated to ‘Making Noise for those who Serve’. The Virtual Memorial Mile will be honoring 5 brave men that paid their final sacrifice in 2013 while serving in Afghanistan. Honor these men by doing whatever motivates you and brings you joy – walk, run, bike, hike, or swim. 100% of donations and 50% of registration (after cost of t shirt) will be donated to a group of charities that supports Gold Star families.

Brian Piercy Re-Internment Legacy Project

Legacies Alive is working with our Gold Star mother, Carol Berberich from Los Angeles, CA, to honor her son with re-interment at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Carol’s son, Brian Piercy, was killed in action in Afghanistan July 19, 2010.  We have raised the funds and have the approvals to re-inter Brian to Arlington at a date to be determined later this year.

2020 Mountain Man Memorial March

US Army MSG Ben Linkous led the way in the Virtual Mountain Man Memorial March on Saturday, April 25th in honor of USAF SSGT Dylan Elchin, KIA Afghanistan November 27, 2018. For 2020’s Legacy Challenge, Ben and some of his teammates at Fort Benning, GA marched 26.2 miles while wearing 35-pound rucksacks. Many others from across the nation joined Ben “virtually” by marching, running or walking in their hometowns.

War Memorials in Beaver County, Pennsylvania

Legacies Alive is currently in the fundraising stages of building 3 war memorials in Beaver County Pennsylvania. Memorials will be located in Brighton Township, Hopewell Township, and Chippewa Township.  These memorials will honor all service members from Beaver County who have paid the high cost of freedom. Honor bricks can be purchased in the names of active, reservist, and retired service members from all branches.
